Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Can I just bring my child to the class I would like him/her to participate in?
A. No. Please call the Gymnastics World Northwest office in advance at 744-6180 and speak to Niki about reserving a place in a class for a try-out!
Q. What should my child wear to gymnastics class?
A. Your child should wear comfortable, fitted exercise clothing free of buttons or zippers. No ballet skirts or super baggy clothing, please! Leotards for girls are for sale in the office. All jewelry should be removed. Long hair (hair is long if it can hang in the child's eyes) must be tied back. Gymnasts work out in bare feet, so no slippery socks or tights should be worn.
Q. Where can I go to watch my child during his/her class?
A. There is an area upstairs for parents to sit and for kids to leave their shoes while they are in class. Please remember that while you watch upstairs, you should not call out to your child during class. This is both dangerous (your child may lose concentration and fall down) and confusing to kids (they are being disciplined/coached by two authority figures). Also, this is your time to relax and enjoy watching your child develop skills and have fun right before your eyes!
Q. S hould my child bring anything to class?
A. Students do not need to bring anything to class but their smiling faces! We have a drinking fountain, but we also sell water, sports drinks and snacks from machines upstairs. Please do not allow your child to drink soda while he/she is working out.
Q. What if I have more questions?
A. Any further questions may be asked either by calling the gym directly at 520-744-6180 or click here to email us.
